Two doctoral research fellowships on return migration to Burundi and Iraq

The Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) invites applications for two doctoral researcher positions to study return migration from Norway and the United Kingdom to Burundi and Iraq, respectively. The positions are part of a large, multi-method comparative project on return migration. The positions require several months of fieldwork in the UK and Iraq/Burundi and residence in Oslo for the remainder of the project period. For the Burundi case study, knowledge of French and/or Kirundi is required; for the Iraqi case study, knowledge of Arabic and/or Kurdish is required. For both positions knowledge of Norwegian is a significant advantage, but not a requirement. Additional requirements are specified in the full announcement. Salaries start at approximately NOK 377 000 (USD 57 000).
