Thirty youth were selected from the camp to participate. After completing an extensive training program, the youth ventured into the camp to capture elements of camp life that are usually obscured from global attention.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The resulting four documentaries highlight issues of:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><a class=\"ext\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/filmaid#p\/u\/1\/jA6fBTFpqis\"> Survival sex work,<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a class=\"ext\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/filmaid#p\/u\/4\/jGKM0T3_Mvc\">Disparities in girl child education,<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a class=\"ext\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/filmaid#p\/u\/2\/1-tZtrMlF7E\">Illegal brewing,<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a class=\"ext\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/filmaid#p\/u\/3\/gygJXfo1kmo\">Entrepreneurship in the camp<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>These videos provide a powerful and intimate look into the daily lives of refugees in the Kakuma Refugee Camp, in north-west Kenya.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>These documentaries and more can be found at <a class=\"ext\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/filmaid#p\/u\/0\/7qu6UGxu2EM\">Filmaid International\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Youtube Channel<\/a><\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kakuma Refugees from Filmaid Internationals Participatory Video Project (PVP) Club have just released four documentaries they completed in August 2010. &nbsp; These documentaries are the result of an intensive workshop that brought together youth from a variety of cultures and backgrounds.
