Student for Refugee Students<\/strong> is a national student organization that was established to respond to the escalating needs of refugee students. According to the 2006 United Nations statistics, there are about 8 million refugees in the world while the figures for the number of people “of concern” hiked to about 21 million. As such there is the need to pay closer attention to refugee issues and how quickly durable solutions can be attained.<\/p>\n SRS is particularly focused on improving human capital of the refugees in settlement camps. In the same spirit, SRS is proud to be contributing to the realization of the Millennium Development Goals in the developing countries particularly “Education for All”.<\/p>\n SRS membership is open to every individual who has interest in Refugees issues as well as development in the third world countries.
