HUMANITARIANISM; THEORY AND PRACTICE

This course will investigate the role of conflict- and disaster-induced humanitarian action in a geo-political setting. Embedded in humanitarian action are a number of contentious issues regarding the relationships between political aims of donors, host governments or ‘ruling bodies on the ground’, humanitarian agents – and the needs and aspirations of affected civilians.
