UNHCR Executive Committee Conclusion on Protracted Refugee Situations No. 109 (LXI) (2009)

This conclusion identifies the severity of protracted refugee situations, the need for a strengthened and unified international response, and urges States, UNHCR and the international community to address the root causes of protracted displacement and achieve durable solutions through voluntary repatriation, local integration, resettlement, and rehabilitation.
