United Kingdom: summary of concerns raised with the Human Rights Committee

In the context of the UN Human Rights Committee’s examination of the fifth periodic report of the United Kingdom (UK), in October 2001, under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), Amnesty International drew Committee members’ attention to a summary of some issues which have been of concern to the organization in recent years. Includes a section on asylum-seekers, particularly the detention thereof.
