HRREC – Human Rights Research and Education Centre

The Human Rights Research and Education Centre at the University of Ottawa is a national centre devoted to the fields of equality rights, fundamental freedoms and social and economic rights, both domestic and international. It is the largest, most comprehensive facility of its kind in Canada. Supported by the university, by generous endowments, and through grants and contracts, the Centre has, since 1981, developed as a force for rights and freedoms for all peoples. The Centre, in conjunction with Carswell’s has recently published a major text on racial discrimination in Canada, edited by the director of the Centre, Professor Errol Mendes. It is entitled: Racial Discrimination: Law and Practice, and the table of contents is available online at this site, under Domestic Projects.
